WITCHSPRING3 RE:FINE — THE STORY OF EIRUDY
The main character of this game, a witch named Airudi, lives in the forest and makes dolls, but at the same time she looks so much like a cute doll with big purple eyes that you want to dress her up in different dresses and admire the costumes of a schoolgirl … Well, in general, you understand , why every fan of anime, chan and all this that real tough machos can’t stand should get acquainted with WitchSpring3 Re:Fine – The Story of Eirudy – especially since it became the first game in this fairly well-known series of Korean mobile RPGs, who visited PC.
The WitchSpring series, which has existed since 2015, currently has four parts (a total of six are planned). During this time, she gained a lot of fans, prizes and awards, including the third part, which really became the first in the series to be released outside of mobile platforms. First, an adapted version of WitchSpring3 Re:Fine – The Story of Eirudy visited the Switch, and now it has reached the PC.
At the same time, it is not necessary to know about the events of past issues – each time we play for a new witch, who, like the previous ones, is hiding from persecution and wants to make friends. The fact is that in the WitchSpring universe, for some reason, these charming creatures are persecuted and feared, and the Inquisition organizes a witch hunt. Although in reality they are not girls, but goddesses. In the literal sense, their magical powers are of a divine nature, and therefore people who know do not call them witch, but deity, that is, “deity”.
And really, take a look at the art redrawn for the Steam version – isn’t it divine?
There are many such pictures.
If anything, our heroine is on top, and below is Adrian, the second main character. Naturally, if she is a witch, then he is a man, the son of a lord who, together with the head of the Inquisition, is hunting for witches. And according to all the laws of the genre between them, this is the most … love, in general, should arise. But not at once. The above art shows their first meeting under funny circumstances, and at first they became just friends, which makes Airudi especially happy, living alone in the forest, surrounded by her dolls and her grandmother.
Witch and her dolls.
She makes dolls to help her both in everyday life and in battle. On Airudi’s head is her first unsuccessful craft, which is called Failure (that is, Failure). She periodically mumbles something and asks for food, which sometimes puts the hostess in an awkward position. And as an alarm signal, a rabbit doll is used, which, when approaching people’s houses, should scream heart-rendingly. In general, there is a lot of cute and funny. See how Eyrudi does alchemy:
Failure is constantly bathed in a vat.
And here is the sleeping bag in which Airudi restores health and mana:
It’s just adorable!
Their first meeting with Adrian was also, as I said, under funny circumstances. And in the future, Airudi (by the way, it was he who gave her the name) constantly suspects the young man of being a thief. It happens so often, and phrases like “Do you want to give me this jewel? You must have stolen it? So, are you still a thief?” she utters in such a surprised, languid Japanese girlish voice that you involuntarily start to smile. By the way, full voice acting in Japanese is one of the features of the PC edition.
And such a cute witch finds herself between two poles – some people hate her and want to catch her, others, on the contrary, appreciate, love and want to help. And somewhere nearby – a huge dragon, monsters, an evil inquisitor and the need to finally stop the witch hunt. And love, of course. Well, or friendship – find out for yourself. Let me just say that the plot is not amazing, but catchy – and the image of the main character here has great knowledge.
Although the script was not without questions. Well, why, one wonders, does Airudi, having escaped from the inquisitor, then herself go to where he recognized her last time and announced the presence of a “witch spirit”? Naturally, she falls into a trap. What is it, love? After all, Adrian called her there.
Our heroine is forced to hide for a long time that she is a witch and a goddess.
Dasha doll, Masha doll…
The gameplay of WitchSpring3 Re:Fine – The Story of Eirudy has a lot of alchemy – in this sense it resembles the Atelier series. The witch constantly collects something and cooks according to recipes in her cauldron. And then again and again he collects or kills the same resurgent monsters in order to get the necessary bone or gland of some local kikimora and, adding a little frightened Failure (and there’s nothing to fall into the cauldron every time!), cook something such. Not only consumables that restore health / mana or permanently increase characteristics, but also various spells. Yes, even magic is crafted in a cauldron here.
